Happy 64th birthday, Hayao Miyazaki! (If you don't know who he is, go to http://www.nausicaa.net and then go get one of his films. I'd recommend Castle in the Sky [Laputa, that is].) Rumor has it we may see his latest film in theaters in the US this summer....maybe.....
In not-so-good news, I've heard Jack L. Chalker is very, very ill. What the heck is goin' on here??
School is going well. My "Weird War Stories" schedule (my two classes are "The Vikings" and "Dinosaurs;" put them together and you'll get a Bob Kanigher-edited extravaganza from the mid-60s, I swear) is moving along. As for the thesis....I think things will be all right. I meet with my adviser on Monday. After that, I need to get working.
Until then, I am amusing myself with fun reading (in addition to my Viking stuff). In honor of its soon-to-be 20th anniversary (my god, I'm old), I'm rereading Crisis on Infinite Earths. Not gonna post much about it now, but I'm sure I'll have plenty to say. That maybe 4 of you might care about. If that many. So I will think long and hard before saying anything here. ;-)
Other than that, I'm tired and a little down. Not spending enough quality time with Amythyst. I'm hoping that changes, especially after next week. We'll see. That's about it, I guess....
