my goodness....
Mar. 22nd, 2005 12:44 amSo I was just kinda trolling around (in a fishing sense, not a Usenet sense), looking at job sites. I still hadn't updated my resumé, but no reason not to look, right? Anyway, I've been kinda scared to start working on things--what if I couldn't find anything? Anyway, so I'm looking on Monster and I decided to check "publishing," just for the hell of it.
Wizards of the Coast has a listing for an Editorial Assistant. They're looking for someone with at minimum six months clerical experience (which I have) and a college degree in English, Journalism or History. Ability to read and write. Similar things.
This is a dream job. I have wanted to work in publishing, and SF/F publishing specifically, for...well, decades now. And hell, I play some WoTC products--specifically D&D. (You know I mentioned that in my cover letter!) And I'm qualified. I mean, well, obviously anyone with real publishing experience is more qualified than I am, but still. I'll admit, I gushed in my cover letter about how much I'd love the job.
Hey, if nothing else, it got me to update my resumé! (And yeah, I'll probably need people to look at it eventually...Amythyst said it was fine, but this was kind of a last-minute, panic thing on my part!) I have almost no illusions about getting this job, but I can hope, right?
