So I guess I should update this. Although, to be honest, I don't have much to say. I've applied for a few more jobs, yay. Am working to fight off depression and sometimes succeeding, but managing to basically function regardless. I'm sometimes able to distract myself, which helps. And, of course, the wedding planning stuff also helps. That's stress too, but it's ultimately good stress.

Speaking of which, we've gotten the music basically squared away, though I still need to pick the bridal party processional. (Amythyst has the bride's processional picked out.) We plan on taking some private dancing lessons to dance to our song and not (in Amythyst's wonderful words) "look like idiots." ;-) Given that the thing's in 4/4, hopefully it won't be too difficult. Because, as many of you know, I have the coordination of an...uncoordinated...thing. We've also started working up the roughs (very roughs) of the wedding program. Basically, we have the outside done. Now we just have to steal text from other family member's prowrite up the inside of the program where we explain points of the Jewish ceremony. I've also been working on getting the tux situation squared away. I have registered with the store, but have to find a few things out before finalizing things. (As some of you know, I'm having to use a chain that has no stores in the state of Washington, so I've had to do most stuff by phone, supplementing it with trips to a local store to see some examples.) So yeah, things are moving along nicely.

One of my afore-mentioned distractions (though I haven't actually read it yet) is Nat Turner, a new comic by Kyle Baker chronicling the life and death of the slave rebellion leader. (It came out in stores on the West Coast today, though--annoyingly--the East Coast saw it about two weeks ago. Thanks Diamond Distributers! Ain't monopolies grand?) It looks like a deeply personal, serious work, unlike anything Baker's ever done before. I'm pretty excited about it, to be honest--hurrah for history!

So yeah. I know this post sounds upbeat, mainly because, well, Amythyst is home and I'm feeling pretty good. Trust me, I ain't always this happy sounding these days...but I try.
