I'm back. Lots I probably want to say, but too tired now. Have new Doctor Who, but am too tired to watch it. Tomorrow. Yeah.
Ok, this might only be funny to some of you, but I thought it was freaking hilarious. Watch it to the end for the best surprise ending ever!

Work!

My old boss e-mailed me last week about picking up some hours at BCC. We just finally got it together. I'll be working early mornings (around 8-10 or so) 5 days a week, and then going up to 19 hours or so a week during the summer break. Unless and until something else came through, of course. So, it's work! It's money! Not a lot of money, but still.

Now I just have to actually get to sleep early and wake up early and get to work on time.....! Wish me luck with that.

and yeah, this probably isn't my last post today, sorry....
So, I finally watched the first episode of the new series of Doctor Who, which aired last Saturday in the UK. As with last year, no spoilers will be discussed in any of my reviews unless I give folks ample warning and a lj-cut. I'm pretty aware that a bunch of you (who care, anyway) might not be able to see the shows for quite some time. (And yeah, we might be able to see what we can do about that, although I don't have 'em on videotape this time.)

Anyway, so yeah, no spoilers. It was wonderful to see the Doctor and Rose again and the production values were superb. I can't believe how good the makeup was, honestly! Given all the pre-airing ads, I don't think it's a spoiler to say that the cat people look like cats. Just fantastic. The acting is excellent--the performances are affecting emotionally. In fact, the only thing lacking is the script which, though full of wonderful moments doesn't hang together fantastically as a whole. In other words, as others have said, it's a Russell T. Davies script. ;-) Seriously, I did really enjoy it, but plot-wise, it's not up to the level of some of the best of season one. Which, still, is actually a lot of fun. :-)

Ok, a few spoilerish things, I guess. (Note that these might be discussed in comments, so read at your own risk. spoilers )

So, to sum up: new season=good thing! Not perfect, but pretty darn good! Watch it if you can. (Oh, and I'm currently grabbing the first ep of this season's "Doctor Who Confidential." Excellent. And I have yet to listen to the episode commentary.....later......)
What happens when a comedian, known for (among other things) his Tom Baker impression calls up the real Tom Baker?

I think it would sound a little like this....
