Now THAT's Chutzpah.
Nov. 17th, 2006 09:16 pmBush Administration appoints foe of family planning to Office of Population Affairs, which oversees federal benefits for family planning*
I don't do a lot of political blogging here, but every now and then I come across a story that makes me say, "What the hell are they thinking?" I suppose the answer is "We're a lame duck administration, we're done with midterms, so let's just do whatever the hell we want."
*=to be fair, this guy is big on abstinance programs, which is also covered under Population Affairs. But he's pretty much on record as being opposed to everything else he's supposed to be in charge of. Which is slightly insane. I mean, obviously the Bush administration isn't big on family planning in general, but...this move just seems kind of crazy.
Anyway, end of political stuff. We'll be back to unlocked posts full of silly links, comics stuff and the like later. I promise.
