Nov. 20th, 2006

I was first alerted to the event by this story on the BBC news site. I subsequently found out that the Beeb got their info a bit wrong, coming as it did (down to similar descriptions) from a NY Post story. (And we know they never get a story wrong or exaggerate for hyperbolic effect and to sell papers, right?)

Anyway, here's the website of the organization behind the event. Calling itself "Modern Day Robin Hood," their stated goal is to "open your mind up to a better world and a better way of living, be good to others. We are not a religious movement, we are quite simply ModernDayRobinHood." Check out the video of yesterday's event in New York. I was actually kind of impressed with the whole thing. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do next and it sucks that the Post's story has pretty much screwed their planned next steps, which would have also been in NYC.

And hell, I may get a story started out of the whole idea, so can't be bad, yes?
Kevin has posted the gallery of Validus freaking out, made by people who responded to his call. Check 'em out, a few might give you a giggle.

For some unknown reason, though, my favorites are those provided by Michael, who was too late to make it into the gallery proper.

And now, time for sleep. Don't ask.
Matt Wagner. Mike Allred. Hunter Rose, Grendel. Fan-freaking-tastic.

Enjoy.
