To be short, part two delivered on the promise shown in part one.

I think I've figured out why I liked this story so much: even more than the new (now three season old) series, it reminded me very much of old fashioned Doctor Who. Fun monsters, chases, captures, escapes, recaptures, good writing, fun characters....it just has a very "classic" Who feel.

Really, I almost feel it's not worth reviewing individual episodes except to say that this is shaping up to be a very fun series for old Doctor Who fans. With the caveat that it's more tilted towards children than the parent series might seem, I'd say it's the closest in feel to the classic series the DW office is putting out right now. (Which is not a slam at the parent series, which is quite often wonderful and very Who-feeling in its own right!) This show is not another Torchwood, which (I felt) was inconsistant and had less of a Doctor Who feel in its first season. This is Who, through and through, while still being very much its own entity.

I dunno, I just think people should watch it. :-) In fact, with the possible exception of the opening Slitheen story, I see no reason why people who are basically unfamiliar with Doctor Who couldn't find the Sarah Jane Adventures enjoyable on its own.

So, uh, yeah, I liked this two-parter. But I have to admit, the next one looks considerably less promising, with its "Last Starfighter" riff, as seen in the "Next week" preview. Still, I'll give it a go and watch!

So...Next week (well, ok, Monday, but I don't know when I'll see it): Boys are disappearing all over England! A new Laser Tag game craze is sweeping the nation--is there a connexion? It's part one of "Warriors of Kudlak" by Phil Gladwin!
