Phillip Pullman says he'd love to write an episode of Doctor Who.
No real news here, but the idea of a Pullman-penned episode...intrigues me. Note that there are two Who-Pullman connections that occur to me offhand: 1. Anna Maxwell Martin (siiiigh), who was in the episode "The Long Game," portrayed his hero, Lyra, in the play based on His Dark Materials. 2. Billie Piper starred as Pullman hero Sally Lockhart in last year's TV special, "The Ruby in the Smoke."
So, other than the obvious "the Doctor reveals the perfidy of the Catholic Church" punchline, what do you think a Pullman Doctor Who would be like? Or, for that matter, a J.K. Rowling episode?
