..while I kill a little time before going to the bus. Remember how I said I wanted to get "a lot done" on the essay on Monday? Well, if you consider just under 2 pages "a lot," I succeeded. Man, is this thing hard to write. Well, ok, I was really stopped by the fact that I was about to heavilly refer to a study I actually read back in November, so I kind of have to skim it again and make sure it means what I think it means. I feel like I'm getting off on a bit of a blind alley with it, but it will all tie in, basically. So, I have about 30 pages to go. Eep.

In other news, I had an embarrassingly geeky moment the other day. For some reason (I can't recall why), one of Amythyst's friends posted a bunch of art from a Rachel Pollack-written issue of Doom Patrol from the mid-90s. (A pretty uninspiring run, as I recall.) Anyway, she was paging down. I recognized it, pretty much, as a comic I have. Looking over her shoulder, I said (mostly to myself), "Is that--that's gotta be John Workman's stuff." She quickly paged down past the credit box and I made her go back. Yep, I was right. Now, understand, it's not that I recognized the penciller. That might make sense. Or the inker. That would be understandable. No, I recognized the work of the comic's letterer. The guy who draws the text in the balloons and captions. Yes, it's true that Workman has a recognizable style (which I very much enjoy), but still.....I felt a bit weird about it.

Anyway, other stuff to post, but no time now. No idea how I'll be for the next little while; I might post a lot when I've writer's block or I might specifically not post because I should be writing. Either way, we'll see....
