Hi Everybody!

(Hi Doctor Nick!)
Scattered entry tonight, I suspect. Many things going through my head. Thus far, two people have asked for the ticket, but at this point I still plan on going with Amythyst. I'm kinda looking forward to doing something nice that she wants to do. I don't know how we'll feel this time next week, though. sigh Anyway, enough about that.
So, yes, I have been watching the new "Krypto" cartoon on Cartoon Network. It is definitely for kids, but it's mostly a lot of fun. (SB, I suspect the Superkid would really love it. I haven't been taping it thus far, but if you want to get me blanks, I could grab a few episodes for him.) Anyway, one of the recurring bad guys is Lex Luthor's Iguana, Ignatius. (Or "Iggy.") I was watching an episode with Iggy today and it just leapt out at me that the director and voice actor definitely made an interesting choice. If you can imagine, he sounds like a cross between the Simpsons' "Snake" and Paul Lynde. Seriously. But yeah, it's fun. And it's the first time I've seen the Space Canine Patrol from those wonderfully silly very old comics since the Silver Age! (They aren't called the SCP, though. And they're updated with new members.) :-)
On to this weekend. This is really for my Western Mass. readers: Hey guys. I think most of you know I'll be around this weekend for LadyArren's wedding. I'll be around from Friday night (late) to Tuesday middayish. (Well, ok, I need to be in Hartford for a 5:25 flight.) It looks like I'll be busy with wedding stuff Sunday and Monday. Being candid, I have no idea who I might or might not see at the wedding. I know there are always interpersonal things and all that, and I have no idea what the status of friendships are. So, uh, I'll be around, I'll be staying at LA's place. If you want to get in touch with me and there might be a problem calling there or whatever, let me know by Thursday night. (I don't know what my internet access will be.)
I did start writing something last night. Got about 3 sentences out and then, phtt! It was gone. But at least there was something. I'm feeling a tiny bit better about it.
The wise Schmallturm has opined that yes, I should definitely go for the job. But since it doesn't start until July and I might not be interviewing for it until June, he added that I should certainly continue looking in the meantime. This makes sense to me. Amythyst says she's fine with me going for the job as long as I keep trying to get temp work until then. Which was my plan anyway. So it all works. Well, I guess we'll see if it all works! :-)
Yeah, I know I said I'd talk about the novel I was reading, but...well, I wound up having an actual conversation with the person who'd actually been the one interested in hearing about it. (Face to face and everything.) So I think I'll spare you all. ;-)
I'll leave you all with a link. I've been rereading Schmallturm's writeups of the epic Greyhawk game he's been involved in (which is on hold yet again). They're a lot of fun and often laugh out loud funny. One important thing to remember the first time you go--scroll past the top half of the site quickly, as the DM has put pretty major spoilers up there! (He has a list of the living and of the dead, giving a lot away. I wish he'd redesign the page so the writeups are on top and the lists on the bottom, but hey.) Enjoy!
