Nov. 22nd, 2005

Friday, David Tennant made his debut as the Doctor in a 7 minute televised story for the charity "Children in Need." Here's a link to the footage. It's official, so no worries there, and if you want to donate to the charity, feel free. :-) No idea how long it'll be up, though.

There's also apparently a full summary of the upcoming Christmas special up online which I will not link to, because I don't wanna know in advance, and I'll bet you guys don't either!

A bit more Doctor Who stuff later; I was gonna wait for the anniversary tomorrow, but since I didn't know how long the video would be up, this seemed pretty timely. Now excuse me, I gotta watch the charity special!

[EDIT]: cut for those who want to know noooothing ) I'd recommend everyone who's looking forward to watching next season (and who has the ability to play windows media player files) to watch it before it disappears!
So, thank goodness I decided to check the UW MLIS website tonight to find some contact information. I found out that the application deadline I was aware of (that of March 15th) is for the Distance Learning program only. The deadline for the Residential (i.e. Day) program is January 15th.

Now, we haven't decided which program I should go for (it's a decision that'll have an impact on both of us, so I feel Amythyst and I should make it together), though we have been leaning towards the Residential lately. This, obviously, doesn't give me a lot of time; I wasn't even planning to take the GRE until January! So I sent in a few questions to the MLIS program contact (mainly about transcripts, which I'd need to get going on ASAP) and got an out-of-office back; she won't be in until Monday. So, gotta get cracking on the GRE studying, I guess....

In other news, it was actually kind of a good day. I took a nice, long walk to my insurance agent, which was pretty great. I haven't taken a good walk in a long time and I really enjoyed it. Took care of my insurance stuff, so all is well there. The rest of the day was mostly relaxing. I even got some thank you notes done! Oh, and my mom also informed me that one of my cousins is pregnant, which is (I assume) good news. I mean, I haven't talked to her for any length in some time, so I haveta assume.

So yeah, other than that jolt of shock and fear ("holy crap! I gotta get into the program, with less than 2 months to get everything together?"), it's been a good day. And even that is almost invigorating, rather than debillitating. So, a little less depression today (still there, but lower level), more okayness. Not bad.
