...that the new WoW expansion from Blizzard is awesome.
At various times over the past, oh, six or so months, rumours have been circulating about old companions returning for this year's season finale. (Here's an early example.) I was pretty blase about the whole thing, figuring (like the cited link) that we'd probably be limited to people (including Lis Sladen) who've appeared in the new series. But today I saw a story that claimed--with good sources to back it up!--that the final episode will have returning appearances from Louise Jameson (Leela, from the Tom Baker years) and Katy Manning (Jo Grant from Pertwee's years, one of my favorites)!! No word on whether they're cameos or full scenes. It's not even clear if the actual characters will be showing up or just the actresses. Apparently, the beans were spilled accidently by Jameson in an interview with News of the World. RTD has, famously, said his model for the first season of the new series was the first Fourth Doctor/Leela season, and Pertwee was his Doctor, so this shouldn't be too surprising. But, for us long-time fans, it is exciting!

Full details here! And only four days until new Who!!

NPR wins

Every year on this date, I always try to catch as much of NPR's "All Things Considered" as I can, because every year on this date, they have a story that...is not true. This year's story is pretty awesome. You have to actually listen to it, don't just read it.

I only post this because it's already run in the Seattle area and won't be run again, so no one has the chance to hear it accidently and be taken in. (And I'm being honest here so as not to potentially rickroll/fool people again.)

Enjoy! And imagine the small percentage of people out there who heard this and took it absolutely seriously.
